Any thoughts from the camping collective on trailers. Have just sold my small (5 x 3) trailer and looking at something bigger, but still within 750kg range.
As well as looking for bigger am also looking for more secure so looking at hard top options as opposed to soft top on the smaller one.
Have looked at Brenderup, Annsems etc but am now thinking of a locally manufactured one by CLH trailers in Wales. Am thinking support local business and if there any problems then they are only 40 minutes away.

They look like tidy trailers, the running gear & lights will all be bought in items as fitted to other makes of trailer & the rest of it you can see with your own eyes, it's easy enough to check quality of build on a trailer because there's not much to it.
If you are keeping it for yrs & price is right then go for it, only minus point if you want to sell it is that well known 'names' might get a better price.
Its not a cheap purchase so will definately have to be kept for a long time. 7x4x4 internal box, lifting lockable lid with gas struts, jockey wheel, 2x rear prop stands, spare wheel £1468.80 inc vat. ouch!

Skoda Fabia will have much less than 750kg unbraked tow weight. Law for unbraked trailer is max 750kg gross weight or half car kerbweight whichever is less. Fabia max tow unbraked will be well under 600kg so with large unbraked trailer you will have less payload than with smaller trailer. If you need more payload you could go for braked trailer.
Your max tow unbraked will be indicated in car handbook or just halve the kerbweight figure.
Had an Erde 122 (or similar size) with an ABS hard top with 'roof bars' which we did not use (the roof bars). Bought it second hand and sold it, and bought a Brenderup 1150 with the hard top.
The Brenderup tows really well at all speeds as it has the larger wheels.
The huge trailer you are looking at is just HUGE! Do you really need all that space? Do you have space to store it? If so fine but we have our trailer stored in the garage and the 'lid' left open so that we don't get condensation on any of our kit.
This last week a package of 'roof bars' for this trailer arrived and was squirrelled away to the garage before I could see it!! Think Mr Frazzle has been shopping again!
Whats the unladen kerbweight on the Fabia? Your unbraked towing limit maybe as little as 500kg on the new model and as little as 400kg on the older one.
Check the V5C (logbook) for the unbraked limit.
Unbraked limit = 750kg or 50% of the cars kerbweight whichever is the lowest.
As several of you have suggested the Fabia wouldnt be up for towing that trailer, no probs just bought a 2nd hand Shogun. Need an enormous trailer as will be used for non camping things too. Also though I could set up my camp kitchen in the trailer in foul weather.

The Fabia will tow the weight ok but as pointed out, low unbraked tow weight will limit payload in an unbraked trailer. Cheaper than buying & running larger car would be to keep the Fabia & pay the extra for a braked trailer. This will give you a better payload than heavier car that allows up to 750kg unbraked tow.
