Hi
We are considering buying some type of roof bag just to use for soft items (sleeping bags/mats clothes) does anybody use one and if so what do they think of them ?
We like the idea of being able to fold them down to make storing easy
I have the Thule Soft Roof box - for a weekend it takes clothes for 3 of us, plus sleeping bags and a roll mat. For storing you roll it and it goes in a carry bag. Not cheap but I definitely recommend,
How is it for air-flow ... re fuel consumption, against a solid, aerodynamic design?
And for cleaning, when it catches the myriad airborne life en route south?
I have no idea re fuel consumption as I haven't checked. Mainly because the main problem I was trying to solve was not having to buy a larger car just to accommodate a few camping trips.
It's very easy to clean though - just wipe with a damp cloth.
I was also impressed with how easily it attaches to the roof bars. And all the zips and webbing are high quality as you would expect from Thule.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
