Hi we have been camping a few times but now have freinds to come with us we was looking at buy a coleman event shelter to give us more space insted of just a standard gazebo as they can be pegged down abd also have guy ropes any advice on these?
Don't have a Colemans but bought a halfords event shelter our has guy lines and space for 4 pegs at each leg so asume the colemman is the same. Only advise I would give is if in a storm take the sides off as managed to ruin 2 off my sides when it very windy, they all stayed on but it did over stretch the elastic where they clip onto frame ( lucky got 3 side for around £15 at the end off the summer so not fussed)
we use the larger size coleman shelters on Scout events. You still have to be careful in leaving these up in strong winds as the guys are there only to secure it, they are not strong enough to cope with a storm and we have had the pole pop out of the feet in strong winds, but no damage caused.
you can get sides for them which are good to cope with a bit of rain, and you can even get a section that allows you to join multiple shelters.
they are fine for camping, but if you are using it out in the open then just pull the "canvas" off if you leave it overnight.
Agree with this, we took ours down at a festival last year due to high winds being forecast. The people next to us didn't, the next morning their's had been blow to pieces.

Our Scouts use them as well. Try and get one with a metal central section where the poles join together.
As already mentioned they aren't good in wind, but do provide a good living space. Our CUbs have just come back from camp this weekend and used 2 joined together. 30 Cubs and adults.
Be aware that many sites do not allow gazebos/shelters at all and many that do charge extra per night - as much as £5 per night. They are also not totally waterproof.
The quechua fresh 3m x 3m shelter might be worth a thought, i have been using this in the garden as a sunshade for the kids, also waterproof so far. tested to force 6 i believe.

its particularly good at blocking sun i found, and has all the sides included.
