This is not easy to explain .but I will try
We have changed caravans and down sized. Our oldish awning from another caravan is too big . We were hoping it would be ok so decided to try it at our storage location. Just threading it through channel .
So we started in the gap towards the bottom and pulled it through as far as it would go .that was fine and would have been OK the pegging points on top of the mud wall was about 1 inch of the floor . That would still have been ok . But the front was too long to thread through the channel to the bottom it was lose from the wide par where you begin threading . Meaning it would not be in the channel for the last 6 inches. Again the pegging point was about 1 inch off the ground.
We think it is too much of a risk to take it away with us .
Has anyone else had an awning like this or one that was too big . We will now take our porch awning . It it to wide to fit between Windows and doors so this will cross a window . Nothing we can do about this . They are too heavy to take both and decided when we are away . Also due to having a smaller van we need an awning .
I was hoping someone else has had an awning that was a bit too big.
You can get the size reduced by any good tent repair company, most do awning alterations. Try google or search for suggestions of who to use on the Uk Campsite's search facility, or im sure someone may post up soon with suggestions of companies they have used themselves.

We inherited an awning when we bought our caravan. It was much too big.
We measured the awning rail ground to ground using a length of string. It was 60cms too big.
I took it to a local tarpaulin maker who made an exceexcellof reducing the size. Cost I think was £70, maybe £80.
thank you your replies . I don't want it altered . The awning is 1 inch too long for caravan track . And according to caravan book 30cm too long . I was hoping it would still fit but it won't thread completely all along the track it is just 1 inch too long for track unless I leave it out of the last part of rail
Thank you all for your help
