Hi,

I am returning to camping after 20 years out, so quite rusty on a few things.

Sounds like a daft question, but I'd like to know where is the safest place to store my gas stove when I'm out and about during the day. When I say "safe", I don't mean anyone pinching it, I mean keeping it cool and out "harm's" way.

I am thinking either in the porch of my tent or if I can find it, a shady spot near the tent?

Any suggestions or tips greatly received.

As long as the gas cylinder / cartridge is shaded from direct sunlight then there should be nothing to worry about.

Even in direct sunlight they are relatively safe, just think of all the gas cylinders permanently stored outside of static caravans, portacabins etc.

There no danger from the strongest of direct sunlight. Put a plastic cover over it to protect from rain. Plastic carrier bag held with clothes pegs will do the job.
