We have a Kampa Rally 390 porch awning (Best porch awning you can get, and we've had em' all)

Put it away damp and now the cream coloured roof is a little grubby and has a few small mould spots.

Can I clean it without buying awning cleaner and will it definitely need water proofing once cleaned?

If you just use water and a cloth and be gentle then no reproofing will be required.

If there is mould or damp spores then you need a stronger solution that will likely strip away the waterproofing.

Have a look on the WET and FORGET website,a bit on the expensive side,I used it to get rid of mildew/mould on my aircraft,works a treat,used on boat sails,doesn't rot the stitching(never use detergents)one other thing to try is dettol,
