I got a 1999/2000 Abbey Safari 2 berth and would like to get some alloys wheels for it. Does anyone know if its ok to change it to alloy wheels, and the best place to look to find them

also can anyone tell me what size wheels i need, i take it there are different sizes in the caravan world like there is with cars?

They have to be specific caravan alloys. Caravan wheels come in few different sizes but generally they are not interchangeable with car alloys. If you did find some secondhand car alloys from a breaker that might fit they may be of insufficient weight rating so unsafe to use anyway.

If you caravan has 14inch wheels then caravan specific alloys are available. If it has 13inch then probably not. If they are 4 stud Alko wheels 100mm pcd. The only car wheel this size are 1990s Polo or Corsa wheels. Might be ok for very lightweight caravan if offset is ok to fit.
