Hi all.
My Truma Ultrastore is playing up. It works fine on gas but as soon as I switch to electric it trips the RCD. I'm thinking new element? Has anyone else had to replace their element and how difficult is it.
Thanks in advance.
Hi it's pretty simple really there are 2 types as I remember one has an extra thermal cut out on it other is just an element.
On the latter it is held inplace with 2 small nuts about 4mm size. undo these remove the element Drain the tank first of course.
it probably will not have a plug on the end so you will have to cut and join the wires you can connect to the old plug but that is a bit involved.
the other type has an extra 2 nuts holding the thermo thingy.
It is easier to cut the grey cardboard cover than to remove it all some tape will fix it back.
Hope that helps.
It's pretty easy as long you can get the element. 2 wires that go into choc block connector the element itself is held on with 2 8mm (I think) nuts. If you look on leisure spares website they have parts diagrams for various versions of ultrastores
It was a few years ago. But all I did was unscrew the wires connecting the old element and replaced them with the wires from the new element. As I remember a Choc block type of connector, but what ever it was simple and I left it same condition as I found it only working.
I was just pointing out an open chocolate block connector left open not in a box has bare terminals you can touch while live just because it's had a bodge job once even if it works doesn't make it correct.
No offence ment.
