My mat leaks had it for 4 years very little use. 2 weeks a year and the odd sleep over, not used last year. It seems to leak around valve going camping in August and need to have a comfy sleep. any ideas
I'd confirm that it is leaking around the valve using a bit of water and washing up liquid and checking for bubbles and get in touch with Exped they are very nice to talk to helped me out with an issue I had they might ask for photos and send you out a replacement part even though it is out of warranty worth a go definitely check it is the valve and not a pinhole somewhere in the main fabric of the mat good luck.
Thank you for your replies.
After trawling through my emails I found that I ordered it on the 1/8/14,and just checked that there is a 5 year warrantee, so am hopeful that something can be done.
Sorry for the late reply have spent days looking for hubbys car keys, found them in the first place he looked. so a happy house hold, also found a few things we had lost so not all wasted time.
We have had ours for almost 4 maybe 5 years now with no issues and they have been slept on a lot. One of them was used in the house constantly for 5 months. We also camp quite a lot.
Just contacted the company.I need to post it to them(at my cost ) and they will repair it and send it back.Just spoke to a very helpful guy called Mike will up date ,when I hear anything.
Forgive me for butting in, and indeed if I am mistaken, but assuming the megamat has the same valve set up as the Comfort 10 (which we have), with an inflate valve and a deflate valve, it might be worth a quick check first, based on this...
As you know, you open the valve with the tab to inflate, and the other valve to deflate.
However, the official instruction is to allow to fully inflate, then when physically lying on it, if any deflation is required (for personal comfort), instead of opening the deflation valve (and thus allowing the air to gush out as you are lying on it!) you open the inflation valve (the one with the tab) and then literally poke your finger inside, and ever so slightly push the valve bladder thing to allow air to escape gently/gradually.
Now, we do this, and it works well, but... finally I get to the point... it is possible that this valve bladder thing does not always re-seat properly, and you have to give it another poke, in the hope that when it bounces back, it seats perfectly, and seals properly.
This happened to me last time out, as I could hear a faint hint of air escaping from the inflation valve. I did indeed give it a poke and it bounced back to seal perfectly.
Might be worth a quick look and listen at the inflate valve, with the cap off, before sending off?
Mucker 1884, just seen post ,sorry for late reply..
My mat has just been returned today, and the invoice states there was a small hole on the surface which they have repaired. I can phone them to get full report. It has been suggested that it may be my cats fault... will try out before Holiday.. Good customer service...
Hey, no need to apologise, ice-pop... particularly as it looks like I was on the wrong lines anyway! Thought it worth a shout though, seeing as it was something I'd witnessed myself.
Glad it's all sorted. Glad you're happy with the customer service. And certainly glad to see the cat getting the blame... particularly if it's the same one that keeps 5hi**ing on my garden!!
