Has anybody got one? We are just buying a motorhome with no fixed bed, so we were thinking of buying a duvalay. We were wondering if the thinnest memory foam base would be OK or if you would really need thicker.   Anybody help out with an opinion. They are expensive so would have to buy the thinnest and discover it was not comfortable!

In the beginning there was darkness.
Then I bought a tent.

Hi, we have a side-dinette caravan with no fixed beds, and have slept on the made-up cushions for three years.

This was OK, but we do feel the ridges between the cushions and the resulting mattress is pretty rock-hard.

Have just invested in 5cm Gold toppers, and the difference in comfort cannot be overstated. It's like our bed at home now. A 66cm and a 77cm placed together fits the bed perfectly.

Like you, we were conscious it was a significant outlay, but ended up deciding that blowing a load of dosh on thinner toppers that we then didn't like was too much risk. Glad we did, and the toppers and zipped sheet sets look like they'll last for many years.

Downside is the bulk, but we roll them up and keep them in the shower during the day.

Love my duvalay and as a bonus I won it in the Christmas advent competition on this site. Makes the bed in our folding camper so much more comfortable.

Another vote for Duvalays. We have the thin foam type which are just amazing. The difference in comfort they make compared to a sleeping bag is worth the cost in my opinion. We use them all year round. I'll admit the initial outlay was a bit daunting but we spend a lot of time in our van and it's worth it for a good nights sleep.
