Looking for a little advice on a gas stove... We have the cadac safari chef which I absolutely love! We also had an old 2 hob stove which last time we camped leaked gas...
I'm a bit of a worrier when it comes to gas products anyway but this has now sent me a bit crazy with worry that I'm going to end up blowing up my tent & children!!
So we need to purchase a new stove and I would really like one that has the same fitting as my cadac safari so that once I have the regulator on with the cadac fitting on the other end... I don't have to change the fitting, I can just screw that onto either the safari chef or the new stove.
I saw in some other posts some quick release couplings... but I'm not really sure how they work and then what other parts I need to make use of that.
We have a cadac safari chef and also use a double gas hob. We bought an extra long hose and a Y section fitting and can run both things (so 3 burners all at once) from that. Much cheaper and easier than swapping the regulator over each time you want to use either one.
My understanding is that the Regulator has to b compatible with the gas bottle. Once you have the right regulator for the gas you can use it with any suitable gas stove.
I have a two burner CampingGaz stove, a CampinGaz butane gas bottle (I chose C'gaz over Calor because the bottle is more compact) and the blue topped regulator.
If I want to change to propane (maybe if I take up winter camping in sub zero temps) I can use the same stove but will need a different regulator for my new gas bottle.
