Hello Campers,
after an amazing trip with an old VW T1 camper bus through Cornwall and Devon, I searched for the same kind of camping stove as it was on the bus (bus conversion Canterbury's Pit). I found one on ebay and it arrived today in Germany. This vintage stove is from a company called Stove Ltd. Rainhill and was built in 1964.
Problem is now to find the right connection to the stove. There is a "inner" thread on the stove to connect the gas pipe, what is not usual in Germany (it was not realy unexpected but now I have to solve the problem).
Does somebody know what kind of connection is needed to connect such an old stove to the gas line or at least what kind of threat was usal in terms of size?
Help would be great and appreciated,
Ludger
It was a blue camping gaz bottle. But the installation on the bus with the specific conversion had first a fixed line from the stove to the cupboard and from this point a flexible connection to the bottle. The origial stove, not installed in the bus, is "stand alone". And now I have to connect the stove somehow with the bottle.
I could share a picture but up to now I did not find a function for that.
Thanks for the hint! I uploaded two pictures which are shown now in my profile. If there is a chance to link this fotos directly to my question, hints are welcome. Now I've got the right words for the "thread question": on the stove there is a female thread, so I need the male thread to connect an adapter for the gas pipe. The adapter needs male threads on both sides (stove/pipe) as the standard here is 1/4'' female thread on the pipe connection.
