Hi Guys, could do with some advice? I'm new to camping, and have just finished my first season, and absolutely love it. I bought a lovely 7 pole Blue Diamond windbreak earlier this year and am really happy with it. Camping in Cornwall last week it got quite muddy and it now looks a bit of a mess. I'm presently cleaning, drying and packing all my camping gear away until the Spring. I am really tempted to take the 7 wooden poles out of the windbreak and run the fabric through the washing machine on a cool wash, then peg it out on the washing line to dry. Anybody tried this before? I don't want to needlessly damage/shrink the windbreak (it's £50 worth of gear and I would be in trouble with my other half!!!), but would like to keep it clean. Any advice will be very gratefully received. Thanks Dave
We have a a 7 pole windreak which I think would be quite a large bulky item to put in a washing machine plus it may come out all wrinckled as well which is not an item that can be easily ironed. Personally, I would wash it as you said but rather in the bath instead and then hang it out over the washing line and let it drip dry.
Would it be possible to erect it and gently pressure wash it.

No such thing as a gentle pressure wash, in my experience (FIL gouged a hole in our gravel path with a pressure wash).
I agree it's probably too bulky for the wash. If it's only the skirt that's muddy, go outside, brush off all the dry mud, lay it flat outside on the lawn & wipe it clean with a sponge & soapy water. Then rinse - hang it on the line & hose it or sponge with clean water. Both sides.
Alternatively, just brush off the dry mud & pack it all away. It'll get equally muddy next year.
Gentle pressure wash ie holding the lance at some distance from what you is cleaning.

Erect it and wash it down with a gentle solution. We have the Outwell windbreak and its never harmed it. It gives you an opportunity to check it for any tension damage too.

Thanks for all your replies. I have erected the windbreak in the garden & gently rubbed down the dirty areas & then hosed & allowed to dry. It seems to have done the job. I did contact Outwell & they definitely said not to use washing machine. Thanks for all your advice.

Outwell? Wouldnt you have been better off to contact Blue Diamond for a Blue Diamond product?
