am just busy browsing the Argos website and came across a Kingsize sleeping bag. Is 400gsm +9/-6deg c. On sale for £24.99. I'v always used our duvet from home for camping - how warm do you think this sleeping bag will keep us at 400gsm.
It depends ... How many of you are getting in it. .....We got our double from Argos & its lovely & warm....& believe me there have been some cold nights in that tent lol
Only Dave and I. We have a kingsize bed at home, but double airbed for the tent. But I toss and turn alot - thus need space to move in sleeping bag lol My poor man!
S'cuse me for butting in ,we have one of these and we were nice and warm in it last weekend but we did have a big duvet over the top. You can't have too much warmth at night in the open air. Especially if, like us you're over 50! The only problem we have with it, theres only a zip down one side which makes it awkward to get out of if you're on the other side and its too big to go in our washer.
I looked at that one before I bought a different bag earlier today. The one thing that stopped me was the fact that Argos don't give such detailed descriptions on most of their products.
We opted for the "Jeep" kingsize 340 gsm instead (340/9684). Its a tad more expensive at £39.99 but our main requirement was having a zip on both sides, which the jeep does, but the one your looking at doesn't stay wether it has got that or not.
I played safe and probably spent more than I should, but we're going camping this weekend so we don't really have time to take it back and exchange it etc.
We're trying it out in bed tonight-not the same i know-but will let you know how warm it is tomorrow
We've had the kingsize on one argos its nice and warm on the inside but the problem we found is it was a little two small and only had a zip on one side so you have problems getting out also the zip doesn't fastern all the way up to the top so if it gets pulled by the other person you can get a little cold. the other problem we found was on damp night when you woke up the outside of the sleeping bag was wet. we found it better to buy two single bags and zip them together alot more room and a lot more warmer.
I once bought a "kingsize" sleeping bag from Argos and it might have been what they called kingsize but nothing like I was expecting.
If you are in doubt about anything in Argos, go to the Customer services desk and ask for an item to view. It's a service they did when I worked there many moons ago and saves having to pay for something and get it home to realise its not right. I did it recently with pet carriers when I couldn't decide which size to get for our new kitten.
------------- J3 TUL if you see it on a site come and say hi
we are going to Argos tomorrow to check them out. Am going to be a pain and ask them to open it for us so we can see what the quality is like and zips etc. Also need to get a new coolbox. I noticed that quite a few people on the forum make do with a normal coolbox and just freeze as much stuff as they can. Was going to opt for the one you plug in - but changed me mind.
