Hi Caravaners
I am the daughter in law of a recently deceased keen caravaner. We have a garage full of caravan and porch awnings, tents, caravan steps, and various other caravan and camping equipment -some still unused. Is there a camping charity or other organisation that would like to take this off our hands? We would just love it to go to somebody who will get good use from it.

Hi Ginasgarden, I personally don't know of one, but it's quite likely someone on here will know. It would be helpful if you gave some indication in your profile of your location. Just the county would do. Saves people from 300 miles away suggesting somewhere just up the road from them.
You could sell it on ebay and give the money to a charity of your choice and have a garage sale - money to charity of your choice.
Free cycle or Gumtree/pre loved with very low prices & money to charity would mean that people looking for a XXX caravan thingy could look and get one very cheaply and that they need/want to get one.
I have donated unwanted camping equipment to a scouts group in Norfolk before, and they were very greatful, just contact your local scoutmaster.
You could also donate the equipment to one of the charities who raise funds for the care of people and their families whom are suffering from a certain illness.
I regularly give unwanted ltems to the cancer charities, British Heart foundation, Age uk, Treetops Hospice, ADAWS animal shelter, to name but a few. They are all happy to collect my donations to sell on in their shops to raise money for their various causes.
Edited to add that your local Air Ambulance charity shop would also be greatful of donated goods to sell on in their shops, another worthwhile cause who offer a collection service from your home.

Ginasgarden, can I just add what a great gesture. I am sure the caravanner would have been pleased to know their equipment is still being loved and used.

Another option may be to contact a local campsite and ask if they can make use. They probably get asked for bits and pieces when things break or get forgotten by campers.
There will be other sites, but as a starting point:

Another option may be to contact any clubs that your relative was in or regularly camped with.
Hi im just wondering what camping equipment you got please as i got a tent and want to take my girls camping and its their first camping as want to try it out
