Started using awning clamps on new awning, but when wind get up they slide on the plastic rail that they are clamped on any ideas of making them grip better . Thanks si

Put a strap over the full awning then nothing will move

But make sure you give them a few twists before you peg them down so they don't flap in the wind

And run strap over, or very close to, vertical supports, or you will bend horizontal roof supports.

Ok thanks for the replies , the dorema awning first slides into a rail at side of caravan the small five pads are screwed onto the thin plastic rail that runs inside the length of the awning the five roof poles then hook into the pads the problem is they slip on the plastic rail and they only tighten so much but not enough. Hi. I use the same clamps without any problem so it looks as though the plastic strip on the awning is too narrow.
I can only suggest gluing a short length of cord or something similar into one of the grooves in the clamp.

Perhaps a bit of canvas or similar in the clamp jaws, it will take up the slack and give more grip to the awning tape?

Yes I recon lining the clamp jaw is the way to go maybe get some fabric with a bit of grip, the awning did come with some other fittings but these required self tapping screws into the caravan wall but I'm a bit reluctant to do this .Cheers si
