We have bought a second hand Robens tent, which was clearly put away damp and left alone for some time - the polyurethane coating on the inside of main tent is majorly degraded. Just wondering whether it's curtains for now, or whether there is a product we can use to emulate the original coating. I know we shouldn't Fabsil the inside, but have seen references to a spray-on poly coating - any advice? Thanks in advance!
If you have no other option then this is a possible solution. You can dissolve PURE silicone sealant (it must be 100% silicone) in Mineral Spirits (white spirit) to a brushable consistency and brush that on the inside. I waterproofed a nylon awning I made using this and it worked really well. Do a panel at a time and let it dry as much as possible before doing the next, it's basically bulk seam sealer. You can sprinkle on talc to solve any tackiness.
