I have been given a dual burner stove from Aldi but just box and no instructions.
I just want to test it but box says Propane at 37 mbar and Butane at 28-30 mbar. GoOutdoors say smallest gas is 4.5kg and that it needs a regulator. Seems a hassle/dear do just to test it. Second hand bottle to look out for (or £40 ish) and then a several quid regulator and then a refill at £15 ish. Is there a smaller gas bottle I can try it out on?
I've also been given a mini one burner stove so that might have to do and I imagine I can buy a simple small gas cannister for it?
keep an eye out in your recycling tip, they often have gas bottles brought in and if your lucky will have some gs in them too, a regulator only costs a fiver, but you will likely find any of this via your facebook selling pages or ebay local
You can get regulator assemblies to use an ordinary screw-in gas cartridge (known as HP - high pressure - or EN417 cartridges). I use my dual burner, which is identical to yours except it's badged "Go Systems Al Fresco", with a cadac 2 cartridge regulator. They now do a cheaper, single cartridge version. You just cut off the threaded fitting at the stove end and fix it on your stove with a jubilee clip.
Then you just need the gas cartridge, which you can pick up from most camping shops, or eBay / Amazon if you want to buy in bulk.
One other thing to note is that the grills on those stoves are completely useless. You may be able to make a slice of bread go a bit stale, but you won't be dishing up sausages as per the product pic.
Thanks Marg. I would not have thought people would get rid at the local tip when they can be sole on eBay but guess people don't want the hassle. Not noticed FB ads before but yes I guess it is a free advertising alternative to eBay etc. No joy on either at the moment. Looking for 4.5kg as smallest in Go Outdoors but maybe there are smaller I could use or bigger (but 15kg though common seem too big to travel with). I'm guessing the regulator is one to fit the bottle, and be safe, and that the pipe leads to all cookers?
Think I can use butane or propane so long as the correct regulator is used? The stove itself does not matter what size or type of gas bottle so long as the regulator is the correct type for the gas bottle?
Thanks Tim. I think the possible solution you outlined is to buy that regulator to enable me to buy small supplies of gas cannisters. I think I saw them sold in packs of 6 though in Go Outdoors. Best take porridge then instead of toast or sausages for breakfast! :-)
My alternative in the short term (for boiling water or canned food I guess) looks just the same as this, but again no instructions, but guess all these stoves and their cannisters the same and available as singles from say Amazon?
PS. I've a couple of spare cans I think I bought from Aldo to kill weeds on a gimmicy device, that says30% propane/70% butane but it looks too tall. Thinking I should never mess with odd size bottles and making do.

I use them for my single burner but it does not screw directly to the canister. It has a gas hose like this:
The connection is the same but the weedburner canisters are cheaper. As you say, they are too tall for stoves that screw in directly. They are excellent for my type of stove though.

You could use a folding toaster like this on a single-burner stove (wouldn't use it for sausages, though, unless you like them burnt on the outside and raw in the middle!)
For the dual burner and grill you could use a Calor (or Flogas) 4.5kg butane or 3.9kg propane cylinder (each needing a different dedicated regulator) or, if you don't have the space or payload, a smaller and lighter Campingaz R907 cylinder and its own regulator, though this is the more expensive option (per kg of gas).
