Hope someone can answer the following query about the gas/thermostat valve. Does anyone know if the two terminals on the gas/thermostat valve should give a resistance reading if you test between the two terminals ( adjacent to the thermocouple connection) on the valve.
I have purchased a thermocouple and fitted it but when testing the output of the thermocouple the voltage seems really poor but fine when the thermocouple is not connected in. It is as if the valve has a fault that is dragging the voltage down and not opening the valve up to stay alight.
Any help would be appreciated on this.

Sorry I can't answer that question.

A few years ago (I can't remember the minute detail) I had a similar problem. It was the gas/12v/230v selection switch that was faulty. I used an unused set of contacts on the switch which cured it. A poor connection in the switch was dropping the voltage of the thermocouple.

This was on a non electronic manual fridge
