Just been to check out a new bbq from B+Q and they all run on propane,my old one is on bupane.I know that the regulators are different so if I was to swap them would it cause a problem.Already have bupane gas bottles and don't want to get new gas.
Propane regulators are different to Butane regulators so if you changed, you would need to change the regulators and you would need to get a new bottle.
I personally cannot see why they would not run on butane but if they state that they won't, then it's a risk.

Our old barbie runs okay on butane. As has been said propane wont freeze so you can use it all weathers. Butane will not "boil" from liquid to gass at around 4 dec C so no gas for Barbie. Mind you not sure I want a barbie when it is that cold!
