Hi, I am thinking about replacing our caravans full size awning with a sun canopy. Mainly for ease of putting up. Any advise please fore and against. Thanks

For: Quick to pitch (especially if you go for a Fiamma, which stays on the van and simply rolls out) and less bulky to store.

Against: Has to be taken down when it's windy and offers limited privacy (unless you get one with optional side walls) and security.

Thanks. I've been thinking about a wind break as well to add a bit of privacy.

We bought an Isabella Shadow.
5 mins to put up, and endured some pretty strong winds recently.
Not cheap for a sheet and 2 poles, but it's a high quality product, it should last a while.
Gives protection from sun and rain, not too worried about privacy issue, just want to be able to sit outside when it's drizzling or very hot sun as recently.
Want to be able to.leave table and chairs out overnight.
It does all that and it's easy to put up, I would definitely recommend one.

Another vote for Fiamma Caravanstore, I have had 2 the 410 & 440 models. The are a little tricky for one person to roll in and out depending on size.

Just recently purchased a second hand Sunncamp Swift 390 sun canopy (very little use) and unbelievable price compared to cost new. Quick and easy to erect for one person.
