Hi Folks, Just joined today so bit of a newbie, made my first mistake by posting this same question in trailer tent forum, hope the dont mind, Anyway I have already felt part of a community just by reading your posts so am looking forward to many visits.

last year while camping in Aberfoyle, I got talking to a bloke who told me he had an adjustable camp bed, ie, the legs were adjustable for slight inclines. As we all know the feeling of waking up at the bottom of the tent due to the uneven tent pitch I thought I would go out and get one.

Well, thats what I thought, nobody has heard of this item let alone sells it. I have come here in the hope that someone will be able to tell me if this guy was just pulling my chain.

cheers

James

welcome James

yes i have seen them, it looks like a table with a mattress on haha

there was a thread on here about it.  you will have to search for it, think it was under airbeds or camp beds

hope this helps

Hi James

Welcome.

Fishing bedchairs have adjustable legs (they have to in some of the places bivvies are pitched.)  Click here for an example. I can assure you that they flatten down to a bed shape.

couple of pieces of wood with a dip in them works well. Those "bivvy" beds used by anglers are ok as well but cost a heck of a lot more..

Thanks, it kind of falls into place now, I was camping/fishing and so was he, so mabye he took it for granted that I knew he meant the fishing seat/bed, Ive seen those but didnt make the connection.

I have just spent about an hour going through lots of posts, all those camping/equipment questions that I have asked myself are now sorted.

I was reading a couple of posts regarding midges up here, Ive found that if you dont wash your face in perfumed soaps or not at all, and have some wet wood ready for the fire the smoke drives them away, just stand in the smoke for a few minutes and its fine. kind of unrelated but thats camping.

cheers to all that posted
