I have Vango SIMs which are ok but bulky to transport and don’t seem to hold the air so well as each year goes by. Am wondering if camp beds are a better option?
Questions:
1. Do the legs of the beds damage the floor of the tent (thinking of the ones that have pointy legs)
2. Do you need anything between camp bed and sleeping bag to make it comfy?
3. Any other tips/advice?

I collect lids from pasta sauce jars and then use those as a coaster under the camp bed feet. Just helps to spread the load and prolong the groundsheet.

I have a carpet in my bedroom so when I was using a camp bed the groundsheet was well protected by the thickness of the carpet. Also when using a camp bed I put a sim on top as a mattress and that combination worked well.

I recently went back to an airbed again though because I found camp beds a little too narrow for me, as I tend to move about a bit at night.

I use EHU so I bought a cheap high rise Tesco airbed with an integral pump and found it to be great with only a little loss of air at night due to the temperature drop.

Camp bed can be draughty without some form of insulation.

I don't like sleeping bags, and used a 7.5cm SIM on top of the camp bed, secured in place using a flannel fitted sheet.

If I were to use a sleeping bag, I would probably use a thin foam mat instead.

As for preventing the camp bed from digging into the SIG/ZIG, I used metal lids from used jars, or plastic lids for pet food cans, as I found Pringle lids would split.
