I have a motor jocky wheel and Iv made it so I can put it on the tow hitch but I have a problem.
When Tring to move with it the wheel starts to tilt And not pull it as its just moving on the towbar connection on the caravan, so does anyone know a way around this. I don't want to cut the front to mount the bracket for the mover to be on really but it seems thus my b the only way atm. Thanks in advanced
When it's up to the caravan it piverts on the ball instead of moving it this is with the jockey wheel clamp on the caravan in the locked persition also any ideas?
Before on. My old van I used the a clip u see on that pic the jockey wheel clamp and this was fine as it was welded to the frame but on my new van I don't wanna cut the front plastic hence why I have done this but its not working right 😔
The whole point of the ball is to allow it to tilt and swivel in the hitch. Could you weld a collar around the ball immediately below the hitch? This would allow it to swivel but would prevent it from tilting.
I arranged a second jocky wheel clamp on opposote side to normal jocky wheel so normal jocky wheel can be used to disconnect coupling from car whilst electric wheel is brought out from garage and clamped in new clamp. the original jockey wheel is then retracted.
it works well on level but along with any other motorised jocky wheel it is hopeless on even the slightest slope as the vans noseweight is nowhere near enough to give it grip' this even applied on slight slope of cutaway entrance to my drive.
The moptorised jocky wheel makers state clearly that they are not suitable for slopes. my only option was to go for a proper motor mover driving the caravan wheels .
ps my van only we00ighs 800kg
Yes I use to have 2 jocky wheels clamps on my old. Van but didn't want to deface my new 1 buy making a cut and welding 1 on but this seems to be the only. Option that Iv got atm wich is s**t really
