We recently bought a secondhand erde 122 with abs hardtop. The lid has bars that go from front to back of the trailer. We’re wondering if we could strap our Coleman event shelter to these bars somehow, perhaps using a roof bag of some sort. Is that doable or would we need to get some additional horizontal (left to right) roof bars first?

We have a roofbag on our trailer with horizontqal load bars, but tend to pack the heavier stuff lower down and lighter stuff higher up. Therefore, the roofbag has the sleeping mats, sleeping bags etc.

Thank you. I think you’re right and putting lighter stuff on top of the trailer is the way to go. Maybe we could just wrap a couple of camping chairs in tarp and strap them to the bars. Give us room for the shelter inside then I think.
