IN our recent van service we were informed that the Smoke detector alarm would expire at the end of this month, December, ours is currently a "fireangel" make, i'm guessing that this brand the bases would be all the same, the "FACE PATTERN" on ours is not showing on a search.... but a similar "F" make would just be a straight insitu swap new for old
------------- That's not a dog....... That's a Schnauzer
I couldn't say whether the bases would all be the same, but they usually just attach with a couple of screws. There are plenty of smoke alarms on the market so it shouldn't be difficult to find a replacement and they are all very easy to swap.
FireAngel is one of the recommended makes for homes, it’s also the model in our MH. Widely available - even Tesco has them. The battery is long life - 7 years now, I think.
Very sensitive to bacon cooking… there’s a button to press to override when the smoke alarm goes off.
Hopefully you can take your Fire Angel smoke detector off of its base, it should have a model number on it and hopefully you can order one of the same and you won't have to faff around with changing the base (easy as it is, the holes seldom line up). That's what we did when we needed to change it in our previous motorhome.
In addition to bacon cooking, the Fire Angel is also very sensitive to toast being made too, trust me on this!
i would look for an optical smoke alarm as opposed to an ionisation (cheaper type) if toast making is an issue, they are less sensitive to larger particles in the air, they will still actuate for a real fire, so dont worry about them not 'sensing' fires.
