It's fair to say my OH and I differ significantly in weight and our current mattress intex durabeam king size causes uncomfortable roll together when it deflates slightly overnight. We need a king sized bed set up too as opposed to a double. Just wondering what your solutions are for a large non-roll together bed for longer camping trips, dreading a fortnight of sleepless nights!
The answer is: 2 x Exped Megamats (10LXW) or the Megamat Max (15cm deep). Each mat measures 197cm long x 77xm wide, and 2 will sit easily side by side to make a fantastic kingsize bed (in fact, together are a bit wider than a kingsize so we use a superking fitted sheet).
We've found no need for any kind of joining kit, but do use a kingsize mattress topper with elasticated corners, then the fitted superking sheet. They don't come apart and there's no roll-together. Quick and easy to use and the pack size of each is not too huge.
They're not the cheapest but they are extremely comfortable. And they include a six year warranty.
When I was a tenter, I had a XL Therm-a-rest Luxury Map self inflating mattress (SIM) over an Outwell Laguna XL camp bed, held in place using a fitted flannel sheet.
It was very comfortable, however, not ideal for small tents with sloping sides, especially if a double camp bed is required.
My tents were 4-berth Dutch canvas pyramids when I used the camp bed + SIM sleeping set up, and I went camping on my own with my dog, so space was not an issue.

When I was a tenter we hired the kit first to see if my wife liked the lifestyle, I'm glad to say she loved it. However, the first thing we realised was that a doulbe airbed was a no-no, so we opted for the dual one where each side is blown up independantly.
