the pump is the one they recommend , and for what its going to do i would say its about the right size, what i would say tho is that decathlon wouldnt really have expected that bed base to be transported basically in a back pack. as for the coach i think you will find you will be fine with the size of the pump, coaches do tend to have really good storage amounts
Problem is, it needs inflating to a relatively high 6psi, which is into the realms of airbeam tent support 'poles', and a similar volume of air. The recommended pump is indeed suitable for airbeam tents.
The usual 'airbed' type lightweight/compact footpumps would never reach that pressure. A smaller sized pump would take an awful lot of time/effort/pump strokes to pump that bed base up! - unless you're super fit, if you ever reached near the correct inflation, you'd probably need the bed IMMEDIATELY!
Add tent, sleeping bag, rucksack with clean socks, toilet roll & beer. I’m wondering if this bed base plus pump is a good idea on a bus, but it’s really not my problem. You have to love an optimist.
I must be the exception to the rule on here, in that I didn't find the Decathlon inflatable bed base added anything to my already very comfortable self inflating mat, so I sent it back.
A good SIM on the tent floor is just as comfortable IMHO. The inflatable bed bases might be good for anybody who struggles to get up off the floor though. I definitely wouldn't want to carry one plus that huge pump, in addition to all other camping stuff, on a bus.
Electric pumps like the Bravo BP12 are smaller (though heavier) and then you’d need 12v or 240v electric supply somehow.
If you’re very rich, have a look at Thermarest and Helinox’s cot options. I bought some thermarest mesh cots a couple of years ago in a tragic spending accident and they are a bit of a pain to set up but absolutely brilliant to sleep on. Would definitely deliver what you’re after from the decathlon bed.

Do you use a SIM on the cot or just a sleeping bag?
