I wouldn't recommend running an electric blanket off an inverter unless you have a truly massive bank of batteries. Anything with a heating element would really cane a battery, and even an inverter in itself takes power. Run an electric blanket all night through an inverter and you would probably wake up to a completely flat battery.

We have a Dreamland Boutique dual control heated mattress protector (half price at the moment, from Dunelm). The spec says ours uses 2 x 100W (i.e. 100W each side). The double uses 2 x 85W, so quite a low draw.

Hope this helps.

If you only used one side at 85W that would draw over 7 Amps from the battery, add to that the inverter losses and it could be well over 8 Amps.

The double plus the current draw of a 2kw inverter would certainly flatten a battery overnight.

2 X 85W is very little when running off a mains supply, but a continuous draw of that amount of current for several hours off a 12 volt battery would really give it a hammering.
