I have been using one of these for the last fews years but it would be useful to have two burners. I could just buy onother one but it might be time to get something better. this is great for boiling water but I find for anything that takes longer it starts to falter a little mainly due to the gas bottle getting too cold.
is gas still the best option for camping? there are a few multi fuel options that look good.
Any 2 burner camping stove that uses a separate bottle is probably what you want. If you want to use it in cold weather then propane bottle is what you want. The smallest Calor propane bottle is 3.9kg connect to cooker with rubber gas hose & jubilee clips. You will need a regulator for bottle.
It uses unleaded petrol of Coleman Fuel which is ultra-clean unleaded petrol by another name.
The reason why I bought one was to replace my Cadac Safari Chef that used high pressure canisters and the suitcase stove that used butane canisters, as both did not work well when I went camping over the New Year weekend in 2009/10.
Butane does not burn well at sub-zero temperatures. Butane/propane mix canisters would burn better at that temperature, however, one would need to keep them inside the tent and away from the elements overnight.
The beauty of the Coleman 424 stove is that it worked throughout the year, and I used to camp in the colder months in a tent!
I had to replace the generator once, and carried a spare in case the replacement generator would fail. Otherwise it was a very reliable stove, and generated a lot of heat even when both burners were used at the same time.
I was sad to let it go when I was clearing out my camping gear due to changing to a tin tent.

philipb11 - Be very warey of the ridgemonkey stove that you have highlighted as there have been many reports of premature failure of this stove - but don't just take my word for it - google will reveal all
MSR pocket rocket light weight , packs down small and is quick and efficient.
If you want something with a bit of style Primus do nice well designed foldable double burner set up.

If you’re prepared to pay for EHU, go electric: we have an Aldi induction hob (with a bread board or plank underneath) for cooking outside.
a lot of the site I go to dont have EHU so I still need the option of a stand alone system

there was a recall of some of the early ones. Ridgemokey claim the latest version has corrected the faults seen in the early ones. but it is too much money to shell out for somthing that wont last
MSR pocket rocket if you want fast, easy to use and very light weight and packs down to very little.
Primus do a a very net and stylist double burner if you want something with a bit of class.
