I loaned my Weber Go Anywhere bbq but never got it back. I now need to buy another but I’m wondering if there’s an alternative that people prefer to the Weber? I don’t fancy paying twice for Weber if I’m honest.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
If you’re going to France, or know someone who is, have a lookout for a ‘Barb'eco1000’. We had one for ages, but I dropped it and broke one of the lugs. Then saw them for sale at Auchan in St.Omer this year.
It’s got a cast iron base, which the legs and sides bolt on to, and can be used flat or vertical if you get a battery rotisserie unit! Stands about 50cm off the ground. I think it was about €30.
There are cheaper versions of Weber Go Anywhere BBQ out there, however, I would stick with Weber for its build quality myself.
Perhaps a larger Cobb?

Thanks everyone. I’ve decided to stick with the Weber Go Anywhere. B & Q were advertising it online for £72, so I went to Go Outdoors and they matched the price less 10% - ended up paying £64.80
Sounds like the end of a beautiful friendship, Jayne. Unless the person gives you back your original BBQ, with a large bottle of gin (or similar).
I've gone "off" people that don't give me back the books that I've lent them.

I lent some catering equipment to a friend of a friend, some stainless steel GN pans that I had only ever used with a water bath, and they came back with burn marks and warped due to being used on direct heat without my knowledge, without any words let alone a simple "sorry" from the said friend of a friend.
I did not like him to start with, and he is no friend of mine. Definitely never again.
And if I lend any of my catering equipment out again, they will be accompanied by written instructions of what they can and cannot do with them etc...

We inherited a George, I don’t know how it compares to a Weber but it’s a bit frustrating because its heat isn’t controllable. It’s either on or off, so it clicks off in the middle of zapping something nicely then clicks back on when the food has pretty much stopped cooking. It’s a nice change to use the outside socket if the evening is warm & dry but we’re limited to what we can cook on it - flattie chicken does best.
Looks like the conditions are favourable, as in warm, sunny with light winds, to take out the Cobb for some BBQs next week when I am at the adult-only campsite next to a cider pub!
