I have currently have an erde 100 with high top and a roof box, this isn’t cutting the mustard so I need to upgrade the trailer. What do you have/use and what would you have bought if you were in my position, 2 kids(one a toddler) +dog.
Ps I have a Volvo estate.

I can say that there are quite a few reviews and recomendations on here about trailers. The search option is very good.

From personal experience Brenderup Trailers are very good, well made and tow superbly.

I had a Brenderup 1105s with ABS lid and side extension, and it towed like a dream, can't fault it.

Bought the package including jockey wheel and spare wheel etc. new from

I could not fit the bigger 1250s in my garage, and suspect it may be more suitable for the OP's needs for a family, as I only camped on my own with a dog!

Get the side extensions at the same time if you could for future proofing purposes, in anticipation of more gears or a bigger tent etc...

One thing to bear in mind, in that they are not water tight. I have had slight water ingress when driving against heavy rain in the past.

We towed with a 650kg maypole trailer (MP715 I think), was a great trailer, especially once I’d put a high side kit, jockey wheel and 13 inch wheels on it, if we hadn’t moved from a tent to a caravan I would be looking at a Brenderup or an Anssems GT750

We had a Brenderup trailer for many years then changed to an Anssems. The Anssems was far superior, IMHO. We then changed to an Anssems with extra sides. They're great trailers, a bit pricey but hold their value well.

I had a Daxara 168 (Erde 163). A-frame with 13 inch wheels and towed great. Fairly widely available and spares easy to come by.

I purchased an Ifor Williams P5E with locking lid, the sides are taller than the Brenderup standard sides so gives a bit more capacity, it's only got 10 inch wheels instead of 13 but tows well and not to big to store.
I'm surprised at how much we take with us, but like to be comfortable when away
