Hi

Apologiers I know I asked this before, but can't find the thread.

I am considering getting a Cadac cooker, this will be for 1 or 2 people max. Preferably I would like the smaller version & quick release.

I would like to connect to my gas bottle in the campervan which is camping gaz blue bottle.

If I got the cadac does it come with everything, or do I have to purchase a separate tube regulator if so which one?

Thanks

We've got the Carri-Chef2, which is the larger version, it works well for 2 people and I don't find it a squeeze getting everything on the griddle. We also bought the Paella pan to go with it, I don't really use the other bits (like the skottel and grill). I am considering getting a pizza stone though. It doesn't take up too much room when packed up.

It didn't come with a regulator, Cadac don't know what you're going to connect to (we've got a barbecue connector point on the outside of the MH so we don't have to faff around with separate bottles.

Hopefully a search against web based suppliers should tell you what comes with it.

The regulators are not expensive at all. Can you remove the bottle from the van?

We have a Safari Chef LP and it suits just the two of us. I would recommend the LP over the HP as the HP only takes threaded gas cartridges.

You can get various regulators for the LP version, details here but it's not quick release and you would have to take the gas bottle out of the van and reconnect it every tine you wanted to use the BBQ. The alternative would be to get an external gas point fitted to the campervan which would allow you to use the onboard gas without taking the bottle out of the van.

We have an underslung tank and an external gas point now but in our last van, which didn't have an external gas point we used a the smallest refillable Camping Gaz bottle, a 901, which didn't take up much more space than a throw away gas cartridge and was also handy as a stopgap if we accidentally ran out of gas in the van.

Yes, I can can remove the bottle from my van it's a camping gaz 907 bottle.

I am looking in to a LPG underslung Leisure tank for my camper, as it drives on LPG, though for the time being the bottles will do me.

In South Africa the country where cadacs are made Cadac have their own bottles that you exchange
and they are Calor sized and if I am not sure they are all HP I never saw any cannistors there. Believe it or not we only used them when it was raining we opened the garage door and did it inside but with the up and over door in the opened position most people there make charcoal BBQ'S more commonly known as Braai's
