Our fridge refused to run on gas this weekend and because it’s over ten years old my local dealers and repair shops tell me that it’s impossible to get spares, it runs ok on EHU but all our events ie vintage rallies etc do not have EHU available, new fridges are very expensive and even if we could afford one all the fitters have very full workloads.
So we are thinking about getting a portable fridge/freezer to keep the milk and salad stuff in,
can anyone help with some advice and or recommendations

It’s a Dometic RM 7391L it is in a 14year old caravan the igniter flashes but fails to light the gas so I assume the problem is in the gas supply I’m afraid I’m not sure about any of the tech side of it
I’ve had a search on the internet for dealers and spares suppliers but cannot even find the model numbers

i think you need to read thr the manual for it! here is a link https://www.dometic.com/assets/18/22/operating%20manual_51822.pdf you need page 21 section 4.14 i think
The fridge probably doesn't need any spares as it might be just a burner out of line that needs adjusting. My caravan is 19 years old with a Dometic fridge installed a standard and I can still get spares for it. The front slider security lock broke last year along with one of the two swivel freezer box hinges which I managed to buy online and fix them myself. Some dealers don't know what they are talking about as some friends of mine last year needed a replacement external fridge vent for their Lunar caravan and because the company went bust recently the dealer was spinning the same old tale about being unable to get spares. I told my friends that Lunar didn't make fridges, they were just supplied to them by Dometic or Thetford and true enough they managed to get a new replacement external fridge vent less than a week later and get it fitted by their service engineer.
Tango55,
Thanks for your feedback i will keep searching the other problem is a qualified fitter they are all booked up as this is a gas related problem I will not be able to fix it personally

I bought a gas lamp from a car boot and the jet was blocked. Remember the needle threaders you get in a travel pack?Pear shaped bit of metal with a looped wire? Took the lamp apart and cleaned the jet with one of these. This wire is the finest thing we could find. It helped the same when the fridge jet blocked.
With reference to what the dealer said about not being able to get spares due to the age of the fridge, I have found a company that does actually sell spares for the Dometic RM7391 model.
Fridge latest,
This person was supposed to be a mobile repairer but required us to take the van and fridge to him a 3/4 hr trip he checked it out and said the connections in the loom were damaged so he put on new terminals and it fired up, tried out next day no better than before, so lots of time trying to contact him to no avail I tried two other mobile repairs operators they were too busy
So still no fridge working on gas ( this hot weather not too helpful either )

How did you get on? I have exactly the same issue with the same fridge and my gas guy has tracked it down to be a circuit board problem not sending a signal to the controller. How were you able to resolve yours? I can’t even find a manual for this model online. Thanks

As this is a gas appliance, you dont need a 'caravan engineer', you just need a 'Gas Safe' guy. I'm pretty sure our heating bloke would sort this for you if he was near enough. If my fridge ever blobs, he'll be the first person i ring.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
