Just ordered a 5m Outwell wind break from Camping World, very reasonable at £37.50 and so much lighter than our beach ones

I also came by one of these - even cheaper. But, i didnt like the guys all over the place. So i got some 12mm x 400mm road pins made, coated them with metal paint, and bang them in at the pole intervals. Slot the poles over them, and they are going nowhere, and without guys to trip over. A bit like an upscaled stripey beach type.

Sounds interesting. We are trying to cut down on weight and space in the car as tent takes up nearly all the back seat. We'll see how we get on in a couple of weeks.

This hasnt reduced weight - probably gained if anything. But it isnt a concern for me. Just so you know beforehand.

Update: Hubby has cut down some old curtain poles (460mm long, 16mm tube)so the guy poles slot into them, crimped so they don't go all the way down. Trying out next week. Thanks for the idea!
