hi all, bit of advice needed here... getting all our camping gear out & checked over for the first camp of the year, I found that the gas canisters I use with our uno-type gas cookers (two unused ones, wrapped in a plastic carrier bag) have gone rusty around the sealed areas. Obviously there's no way I'd chance using them, but I just need to know what's the proper way of disposing of full gas canisters... can anyone help?

Does your local tip take gas bottles, if so I'd take them there.

I put silica gel packets from shoes in with our metal stuff which helps stop them going rusty.

Take them along to your local supplier when you go for replacements, they will know what is best. Caravan/camping shops will have a policy in place for dealing with them.
