Please point me in the direction of another forum if this topic has been done to the n'th degree.

Not very often we camp without an EHU but on the occasion that we do or go to a festival then would like to have a means to charge battery banks during the day to charge phones overnight.

Have seen these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394465817750 which offers a fold out panel with a built in battery and also a means to attach a second battery (we regularly use a 13800mAh power bank which can hold sufficient charge for new Samsung phones and we get 2 charges from each full power bank charge).

Specification:
Built-in battery: Li-polymer 10000mAh
Solar Panel Peak Power: 5V21W (Conversion Rate : 22%-25%)
Folded Size: 305 x 180 x 20 mm/12 x 7.08 x 0.79 inch
Unfolded Size: 520 x 305 x10 mm/ 22.47 x12.0 x 0.39 inch
Net Weight: 758g/26.7oz

Output:
USB1 Output: 5V2A
USB2 Output: 5V3A/9V2A/12V1.5A
Type-C(PD 18W) Output: 5V3A/9V2A/12V1.5A

Input:
Solar Charging Input: 5V2A approx. 4-5 hours (70000lux light condition)

I have no plans or false expectations to run a laptop, radio, microwave(!) from such green power but if anyone has tried similar to charge phones then would welcome your experiences

my son has something similar but i dont think it was anywhere near that sort of price, it worked to keep his phone topped up for a week during summer.

but,

a solar panel and a motorbike battery would do the same thing and cost half the money and if it was a real emergency could be attached to either a car or a mains battery charger at a local garage to recharge it.

but surely your going in your car to these festivals? so why not just charge it in the car instead?

We have a power bank that we charge up before going where we might run out of “juice”. (Usually taking lots of photos away from a socket.) Admittedly, you need to be frugal in the first place, but it does 2 charges.

Solar panel when on a campsite where it can be left working all day everyday and still be there if It's left it unattended.

For short trips Power bank, cheap, small, lightweight, and lives in pocket out of sight, and the power bank is also a hand warmer if needed, we have one each.

I would not consider us heavy users of phone or camera but a recharge can come in handy. But the hand warmer function is used during the winter when not camping. So a useful bit of kit.
