Slippery SIMs ... we have finally solved the problem of a slippery SIM and sleeping bag. We have made covers out of a 100% Cotton stockinette roll. As it is circular cloth, just sew it at one end, slide SIM in and pull string at the other, no more slipping and sliding around at night 😆

After using the stockinette covers for a week I can thoroughly recommend, no slipping down in the tent!!

That's a good tip Virsec, although for anyone looking for SiM's that don't slide around, we have the ThermaRest DreamTime XL's which come with a removeable fleece topped cover, and non-slip underside, we have had the DT's for 16 years! amazing piece of kit.

Hi there - other than the stockinette do you have any other cover over the SIM or do you just then sleep on it with your sleeping bag? I'm trying to find a fitted sheet for our 2 new Berghaus air 10 SIMs but apart from outwell who make one for theirs complete with a slot for the valve (which is in the wrong place for the berghaus) no others seem to make any.
I may just have to repurpose some old single bed fitted sheets but they will be WAY too big and thinking it'll just get annoying.
For reference I don't really have an issue with the SIM being slippery, just want to (a) protect the cover for as long as possible and (b) make it a bit more comfortable!
Thanks

I used a flannel fitted sheet over my Therm-a-rest Luxury Map XL, to secure the SIM on the camp bed, and I used Clingon/Holdon clips and strings to tighten the sheet.

Bed sheet clips would work too - I just happened to have Clingons and strings to hand, that's all.

I slept with a duvet and not in a sleeping bag though.

Our Megamat has a soft fabric top so not very slippy but, on something else I think I'd need to be covered in Velcro to stop me moving around:I'm quite a fidget!

Slipping around on the floor - use some of that sticky mesh stuff for shelves etc. Brilliant for picnic rugs etc or slippy inner tent floors.

+1 for the DreamTimes - really comfortable and the best pack size

We just use the stockiette on top of a carpet and have a double sleeping bag each (Outwell Contour Lux Double Sleeping Bag).
