In our camping days, forgot tent pegs twice. Once we were able to buy some. Another time, there was a handy old wooden building on the site and we had a sharp knife.

Perhaps even more now through experience, I make a list of essential LOCAL (well, as local as you can find) services, with address, opening times and phone numbers etc., BEFORE I leave home, things like nearest supermarket, camping suppliers, pharmacy, dentist, A&E, vets, etc. Often find your need if it occurs is urgent, and it can be pretty stressful trying to research these things under pressure and often with marginal phone signal coverage, much easier to do at leisure when at home.

May seem a bit OCD, but rare if it hasn't come in useful for somebody, even if only folks on a neighbouring pitch! I often camp with a group, so there's usually somebody needing something, and it really has been from the trivial, more tent pegs, or sticky plasters to suspected broken arms (nasty sprain as x-ray proved!).

I think this is a really good idea - and I'm not a fan of leavings things to chance, so I'll definitely make a file with all that stuff in before we go. Thank you!!

So far, the site seem really nice and helpful on the phone when we booked so I'm sure they'll be able to help us too. :-)
