If using one in a caravan or tent etc on site you need to know the capacity of the site EHU and the power requirement of the induction hob.
1 KW is approx. 4 amps. Site supplies are 6, 10 or 16 Amp so 1.5kw 2.5kw or 4kw unless you are using electric for something else in which case you must subtract that usage from the max available.
I cannot use my double light industrial induction hob for my van as it is too powerful unless I am on 16A EHU. It is 3kW if I use both at their highest setting.
The single version is fine at 2KW.
The induction hob installed in my van cost me a small fortune as it is designed especially for the recreational vehicle (RV) market.
It is a Thetford Topline 902 2-burner hob, can work with 10A EHU, and has automatic power switching meaning it will switch to lower power if it is over 10A.
If I were to get a stand alone induction hob, I would consider getting the Vango single or double one.
