Does it deflate with no one lying on it? If not it will be a very small leak, possibly around the inflator valves if the one way valve system is failing.

Other failure points are where the fabric/plastic is welded along the joints and corners.

Inflate and spray areas with soapy water to try and find where the leak may be.

Hi Split Ends, aaah. Empathy. As posted here recently, one of our Exped Megamats is also misbehaving (I've had have it inflated on the bedbase all week and slept part the night on Monday on it, but it's not deflated now ... it had, last week when garden camping). Frustrating.

There are some helpful videos on the US Exped site which might give you some pointers (don't know if Outwell offer similar guidance or indeed, if they have a helpful Customer Services/Repair department).

As Daveyjp says above, you can use water to seek a leak (or try in the bath if you can manhandle the Dreamboat) and see if bubbles emerge.

If you find a puncture, leak or weld-seam issue, Seam Grip +WP (waterproof) is recommended to mend them (videos on YouTube etc).

I'm rather suspicious of the heat and whether air expanded inside too much and either blew the deflate valve a little... or caused a small rupture. But mine wasn't inflated to the max (not comfy then), and although heavier than I used to be, still not a megaweight so don't think it can be that.

I do hope you manage to resolve your conundrum, as do I.

I've just posted on the same topic!

I've fully inflated mine, put pools of water on and then pushed down. I'm getting loads of little bubbles appear which I think means multiple leaks. They are all on the topside.

Benski - is the top side of the mat a sort of padded fabric for comfort, and different from the base/side material?

Just wondering whether the top fabric holds air and is causing the bubbles rather than leaks from the SIM part, if that makes sense?

Have you tried drying it out, and then doing the tests with soapy water etc, on the base and sides, especially around the joins and valves?

I'm still working on locating the reason for my MegaMat failure.

Good luck.

(Effort expended depends on how much you paid for it...)

I have tried with soapy water and this is how I found the bubbles on the top. It also works with just water. It only bubbles in certain areas - but there are a lot of these areas. I do get your point about the bubbles not actually being a leak, just the air inbetween. I put some tenacious tape on one area with the largest bubbles and I've checked edges and valves.

I'm thinking it's a write off but I can't quite come to terms with that yet!

Benski, I understand your angst at the thought of it being irreparable... they're not cheap to replace but are so comfortable compared to ordinary airbeds and SIMs, and quiet. Some mats sound like crisp packets!

I'm sending mine to Expec repair and hope they can do something, although I have attempted a repair with Seam Grip but something is still not right.

Hope you find resolution.

Split Ends, have you sorted your issue?
