I "invested" in a couple of pairs of those trousers that unzip to become shorts just before our trip last week.
And I'm pleased I did. They're very good, lightweight, comfortable on cooler and warmer days and reduced (slightly) the packing.------------- Paul

Can recommed the zippy trousers (action pants as we call them) - also things that you can layer up as the temperature drops, plenty of tshirts, long sleeved shirts. This reduces packing as large jumpers etc can take up a lot of space.
Don't forget your waterproofs, including waterproof trousers - essential if you ever have to put your tent up/down in the rain.
And don't forget your JimJams so you can do that middle of the night pee run without being arrested!

That's a good point. We deliberately left our Big Coats at home last week and just took pac-a-macs.
Much easier to pack and faster to dry. Not the thing for walking round the park in December, but then we wouldn't go camping in December..------------- Paul

I buy loads of three quarter length trousers, shorty enough for warm weather and long enough for slightly cooler weather.

Hi,
For 2 nights/3 days I took a couple of pairs of utility/cargo pants, t shirts, plenty of socks, waterproof jacket, a smarter pair of trousers and a jumper (for evenings out....didn't get unpacked so wont bother again). walking boots, trainers, flats, pair of flip flops for the shower...could do with a fleece to keep me warm in the evening. oh and Pj's and underwear, sounds a lot but didn't take up that much room in the car.

What ever you pack look at it again and 1/2 it! You will find you live in the same pair of shorts for about 3 days. You get so laid back you just can't be bothered to change.

Flip flops, fleeces, and mac that folds up small. Agree with the above - I always take loads and don't wear half of it. ------------- fourtones
