Hi I have just bought myself a Erde 102 trailer to drag all the camping gear around, assembled it yesterday evening. It went very well but I am a little confused. There's a length of chain at the tow hitch which I know/think needs to be secured to the tow bar somehow but how does it attach and to where?

That will be your safety chain. You need to get an towing eye fitted by your towball, and the chain then goes through it and should attach to itself.Im sure someone will give you a more technical reply shortly

My Daxara (Identical to the Erde brand)? has a loop of chain on the tow hitch, this just hooks round the towbar in the case of the hitchlock coming detached. Gives you a second chance.............................

My is attached by a padlock to secure it. It' also handy for attaching to trees etc when unhitching it at the campsite.

That sounds like a great idea, I'll pick one up on the way home tonight. Thanks folks.
