Hi, has anyone had a towbar fitted to a scenic - how much was it please.

We enquired about a tow bar for our scenic when we purchased it from Renault - their quote was very expensive but they suggested another garage locally that could do it cheaper (strange but true). Can't remember what we paid first time but it cost us £90 to have the tow bar transfered to our new scenic, again a local garage was recommended by renault

They also list mobile fitters.  Not sure where you are in Lancs, but Braithwaites near Preston are very good.

Thanks for those, will do some ringing around, Braithwaites is not too far away - no point buying a trailer if we haven't already got a towbar is there!

We got our towbar fitted by a local place in Glasgow, single electric was £170.00 (our Scenic is a 1998 I think - R reg). This was an average price as we tried a few places. Didnt go to Renault though - not brave enough to ask!!

I've just rung our local Renault dealer (in Essex), they've quoted £451 for a detachable (inc twin electrics) and £434 for a fixed one.

Is it my imagination or is this a little expensive?

Quoted to fit a Grand Scenic (56 plate).

Hi jan i used a mobile man called fast fit, we used him for our mazda and now we have just booked him again to fit a double electrics to our new vectra can give you his number if you want, he only charged us £150 for our mazda last year, and he is charging us 225 this time for the new car but thats because its all computerised, but he was very reliable and we had no probs with our last one
