I have 2 x 3 metre poles (they are actually fishing rods/poles without the bits if you examine them closely!) for various windspinners etc. The first was from Dunstable Kites & that is excellent. Not expensive & very quick postal delivery when I ordered it - excellent service. The 2nd was a cheapie picked up at a kite shop stand at a kite festival - that one the ring on the end that you attach the wind-game/spinner/whatever broke off first time I used it! Anyone know how to repair one?
As for keeping them upright, no need for ground spikes - I've found if properly guyed (I use 3 on each pole tied at approx 18 inches from ground) they'll stand up no problem without being pushed into ground.
