I used to wire mine up to the EHU with some croc clips. I used to get a lovely "glow" from them and zap any one daft enough to trip over them....
ONLY KIDDING! but.....
On a more serious point I have had people trip over my guy lines in broad daylight. the fact you can see them at night may not help...

Have also used thin scraps of white cloth in the past - no russle!!!

I use pennons (including a nice UKCS one!) to show where the guy ropes are - still doesn't stop me tripping over them myself though (& that's when I'm sober!).------------- TrickyWoo

we've got them on our tent. Dont work p heads still fall on tent, and normally end up lying their till sober
