Anybody body got one if so wots the best(ish) one on the market , reason being got to the van on friday and the awning felt like is was about to melt, dreading going up on friday NOT
I got an "Airforce" one from B&Q (£299.99 or thereabouts), have used it constantly at home (too heavy for caravan!), but I wish they had put the drain plug above floor level!
I think Tesco's are selling a smaller one around £65, don't know how heavy they are though
I got one from B&Q, they had a sale at the end of June. Twin Pipe 12,000BTU, was £349, got it for £212. It's great, cools our south facing conservatory well so I guess it will cool the inside of the awning. I notice they are back to full price but they have still almost sold out in this hot weather. I am toying whether or not to take it to France in our caravan. It's takes 6.2 amps on full blast, the site is 6A so if I had it on low it may be ok.
Most fuses and MCB's can take overcurrent briefly, the compressor I measured last took 50 amps at 12v but the running current was only 2.9 amps, if you scale that up to mains.....
a 6 amp fuse will take 7 amps for ages before (if it ever did!) they all have some leeway built in and many are slow BLOW anyway.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
