Just wondering if there is a lamp out there with some kind of control on the brightness level?  I see that Argos have a small one with a bright/dim option.  Are there any others out there?  Sorry if this is a "dim" question but we are new to camping and preparing for our first trip which is all very exciting and confusing!

I don't know if you are after a gas or battery powered lamp but here are a few ideas:

Nearly all gas powered lamps (and certainly all Campingaz ones such as the 206 or 207) allow you to vary how much gas is fed into the latern and in effect its efficiency and brightness.

Battery lamps do vary in design but certainly some do allow you to select a low setting for increased battery life and a dimmer light. Those I know of off-hand are the Coleman Rechargeable and Coleman Krypton Deluxe Table Lamps which can be had for £10-£20.

We tend to take a bedside lamp with us and use that at night when watching tv and also keep it on all night in the awning for the kids using the portaloo. find its ideal and doesnt cost anything as nearly everyone has one!
