After scraping my car exhaust all the way from Leicester to the Peak Disrict because of an overladen car (minimum camping equipment - maximum wifes clothes and bits she throws in)  I have decided to buy a trailer, have been looking at the Caddy from Towsure seems decent enough, but have also looked and seen Franc camping trailers and Trelgo trailers, has anybody on here got any of them and any recommendations, totally confused as which to opt for, I am looking to spend between £250 & £350

Thanks in advance

Russ

A bit over budget (£400), but if storage is an issue, have you seen the DUUO trailer ?

http://www.duuo.com

My local B&Q Warehouse stocks them (as well as others).

I am more than happy with my caddy. The company I got it from provided excellent service too. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/directory2/details.asp?revid=720&typeid=

There are some good prices on here.

The general advice on here seems to be to buy bigger than you think you'll need, because before long you'll need bigger than you bought.

Personally, I'm making do with a roofbox for now and hoping to find a cheap second-hand trailer over the winter months.

We have a roof box on the top of the passat and it is great, its a thule one and you can open it from both sides. We chuck all the light but bulky stuff in it like the chairs, swingball etc. and have no probs.

The car still cruises well on the motorway at a decent speed and i am only loosing about 3 mpg as well.

Erde trailers are excellent! A bit pricey though, but you gets what you pays for! I have the small one '102' and is big enough for our family needs, gonna fit the roof box on top for next year.

But whatever trailer you buy, get a spare wheel for it!!

Happy Camping!!
