Hi
Hope someone can help. Whilst we were away at the weekend at Ripley near Harrogate, we went into the village shop there and bought 2 Instant Fire Logs.
They were a log (obviously) wrapped in paper, which you lit the paper burned away and the fire stayed alight for about 2 - 3 hours.
Trouble is I have never seen them anywhere else - so just wondering if anyone knows what I'm on about and if so where can I buy them because they were great !
Here's hoping !!!

Thank you very much, I have never seen them before. Just lit it in the BBQ and it was brilliant - toasted marshmallows and everything.
Thanks for the replies.

Mum has a coal fire over Christmas etc and has used these for a couple of years - gets the fire going with these and then after a good while adds some coal.

It was brilliant, Bernie, I was dead impressed. Kept us toasty while we were sat outside. I'm going to go to Wilkinsons at the weekend to see if they have any.

Sainsburys sell them. Useful to take to Center Parcs, as they charge twice the price for them there, and all the lodges have real fires.------------- Paul

I think they're about £1.70 in my local Morrisons. Very handy things, only problem is they are hard to get going in windy conditions.

They sound good. If you don't have a BBQ with you can you burn them in something.....like a metal plate, or the grill pan I never use?

Am I the only one who thinks that these logs smell disgusting. They have an artificial chemically smell.
I Used one at center parcs once and it induced and astma attack in about 5 mins because of the horrible smell. Never had an asthma attack induced by coal or wood fires so just wondering what is actually in these logs that stinks.

Hi Jo
Never noticed the smell when we used them, but we were outside - did you use yours indoors?

£1.49 at wilco's. Tried them last weekend, just chuck one on the bbq when you've finished eating & get cosy. GREAT. No more firewood finding expeditions!
Got 3 more for this weekend today.
